HelperChoice Christmas Party 2017: Connecting Helpers & Employers around Wine Tasting

On Sunday, December 10th, thirty-three domestic helpers and employers participated in the HelperChoice christmas party that took place at theDesk in Sai Ying Pun. The event started with the presentation of HelperChoice’s main offers like insurance, paperwork processing, training and HelperChoice’s latest actions like the sponsoring of domestic workers to run long races in November, the organisation of several hikes to discover Hong Kong trails in December etc.

But the long-awaited moment was surely the wine tasting organised with our partner Plenite, a professional conducting wine classes dedicated to domestic workers. Employers and helpers discovered three different wines offered by Santa Margherita, an Italian wine provider: firstly, the Prosecco was appreciated for its light bubbles, then the Gewürztraminer (a French wine from Alsace) was sweet and participants had to recognise fragrances of litchi. … but it was not that easy!

Last but not least, the Chianti (red wine) was appreciated just before trying the delicious tartes bites prepared by Tartes & Pop for the occasion! We could not tell our favourite flavours: chocolate-yuzu or orange earl grey? “Both!” replied unanimously helpers and employers.

Thanks to our other partners GuavaPass and the Terroirs, we were able to organise a lucky draw so that fifteen employer and helpers were able to bring back a gift back home: vouchers for fitness classes or to go to the grocery, bottles of wine, HelperChoice goodies… This was a very lively and entertaining atmosphere bringing people together!
