Philippine passport renewal in Hong Kong can be done both via online and personal applications. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, foreign domestic helpers and other Filipino OFWs are encouraged to schedule for passport renewal through an online appointment instead of ensuring their safety and effectively practicing social distancing.

Remember, your philippine passport must be valid 6 months before the date of your departure so it is best to do passport renewal 1 year before it expires to any inconvenience or delays.

3 Easy Steps to Renew your Passport

Step 1: Securing Your Appointment

In 2026, personal appearance at the Philippine Consulate is mandatory for capturing biometric data. There are currently two main ways to secure a slot:

1. The Online Appointment System

Visit the official Philippine Consulate General official website.

Select PCG Hong Kong as your site.
Choose a date and time that works for your schedule.
Important: Appointment slots are free. Avoid any “fixers” or third-party services charging for slots.

2. The Drop Box Method

For those who cannot secure an immediate online slot, the PCG offers a Drop Box system located at United Centre in Admiralty.

Drop off your application form and photocopies of your HKID and visa.
You will receive a notification via SMS regarding your assigned appointment date.

Step 2: Required Documents

To ensure your philippine passport renewal goes without a hitch, bring the following to your appointment at the 14th Floor, United Centre:

Original Passport: Your current e-passport.
Photocopies: One (1) clear photocopy of your passport data page (the page with your photo).
HKID: Original and one (1) photocopy of your Hong Kong Identity Card.
Visa Proof: One (1) photocopy of your current visa or landing slip.
Self-Addressed Envelope: A 7×10 inch brown envelope with HK$ 37.00 in stamps (for the secure mailing of your new passport).
Fees: The standard fee for a new passport is HK$ 480.00.

Step 3: What to Expect During Your Visit

On the day of your appointment, remember to dress appropriately—collared shirts are recommended for the photo capture. You will be asked to:

Submit your documents for verification.
Pay the processing fee at the cashier.
Proceed to the encoding area for your photo, fingerprints, and digital signature.

Processing Time: It typically takes 6 to 12 weeks for your new passport to arrive from Manila. You can track the status of your application on the PCG HK official website.

Reminders

The new passport will NOT be released unless the old passport is presented.
Check all data in the machine-generated form before signing. Passports found to have printing errors may be replaced subject to another payment and 6 weeks or one and a half month processing period.
